Rewatch: The Met Gala 2024 red carpet livestream - Presented by eBay and Porsche (2025)

Four months designers and stylists have been collaborating with our celebrated guests to

achieve sartorial glory for this the first Monday in May and now after

thousands of hours of planning and fitting their Creations are moments away from being

revealed. I'm going to link Christie and I'll be with Ashley Graham all night

interviewing some of the most notable figures in the world who will line up here in the

tunnel as they await their big moment. They'll make their way up these stairs.

There's as photographers journalists and even other guests shout their names and capture

every detail. And once they're at the top they'll find our co-host La La Anthony.

That's right. We're here to talk with everyone from this year's co-chairs and Daya

Bad Bunny Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth to the entire guest list that has been kept

Under Wraps until tonight. This is the 2024 Met Gala red carpet.

The costume Institute newest exhibit exhibition Sleeping Beauty's Reawakening

fashion opens to the public this Friday

May 10th. It's such an exciting time. Everyone in attendance tonight is going to

get a first look at the exhibition. But first they're making their grand entrance

right here tonight's dress code is the garden of time and we're expecting to see a wide

range of exciting interpretations and here to tell us more about the entire evening is a

woman who has been co-chair of the Met Gala since

85 she is the incomparable Dame my fairy Godmother and a winter is here. How are you?

I'm excited to be here. It's such an exciting night. Now what something people may not

realize about planning the Met Gala maybe how much time it takes

a garden of time but it's a huge amount of time on so many people's part whether they

work in the museum or all of those many people from condé Nast and I'm just so

grateful for the army of people that put this together and we

Learning it over a year in advance. We're ready on to 25

and 26. So God is in the details. Yes. Absolutely. Now Anna. Do you have a favorite

element of this year's exhibition? My favorite element of the exhibition is

always the pleasure of seeing the visitors that come

and see the show and understand the magic what Andrew produces every year and that

really is the biggest reward that we have of course tonight is wonderful and really fun

and I can't wait to see what everyone one wears but in the end we're doing this for the

museum and the great work that Andrew does absolutely and Anna speaking of the museum.

What's your favorite part about collaborating with the museum for the Met Gala working

working with the costume Institute is such a great pleasure and who has the most amazing

team but everyone in the museum, we've worked together now for 27 years

so we know each other pretty well, but they're always so accommodating and helpful

and excited. So it's a great partnership. It's going to be a fabulous evening. I'm

Excited and I have a wonderful Thanksgiving night. Okay. Thank you. All right. Let's

check in with Gwendolyn and Ashley and see what's going on on their end of the carpet.

Thanks, la la look while Lala holds it down to the top of the stairs Gwendolyn and I have

a front row seat to all the arrivals on Fashions biggest and boldest Knight and with

a dozen cameras across the carpet. We've got you covered this much to admire the Chia

starting with The Deco itself. The God is organizers always create an

environment. But based on the exhibition perfectly representing the Nights theme

I'm obsessed with tonight's theme because I think that we got to really

go and explore and have fun with the archival and the floral and just really

thinking outside the box for this met. I think also with regards to the deck or it's

definitely a sensory experience and I was thrilled to hear that buzz luhrmann's been

involved in generating it along with Catherine Martin. We will that was exotic

exciting news. The arrivals have officially begun

and as always this year's co-chairs are the first to show off their looks

there's the absolutely stunning Zendaya. Oh my goodness. Is she never fails? What

what is on her shoulder? Is that a hummingbird on her shoulder floating?

I am I am truly obsessed. I think we're in for a

real treat tonight with Zendaya's look literally whatever La Roche does with

Zendaya. It's slays it's on every red carpet best-dressed

do the makeup. She let her eyebrows go. This is Sensational. I believe this is

margiela by John Galliano and it is yet another piece of stupendous genius.

Oh wow, and I love the drama of the back. Absolutely beautiful.

Jennifer Lopez is also one of tonight's incredible co-chairs and she has already made

her way to the Met steps to let's check her out.

shave. She truly does. How's it going over there? La la it is always so exciting once

the arrivals begin and I am beyond thrilled to be back here hosting the Met Gala for the

Third. Third year in a row Gwendolyn and Ashley, this is both of your first time

hosting at the Met Gala. What are you two looking most forward to tonight?

I am really having such a fantastic time meeting so many different people that I've

never met before finding out about them and generally just vibing with Ashley.

Oh Gwendolyn and I are vibing. We're having a little too much fun back here Allah we miss

you though. I miss you guys, too. You guys look stunning amazing to you.

Yes, and we know that tonight's dress. It is the

garden of time. So we definitely trying to embody that talk to

me a little bit about what inspired both of you guys is look tonight.

Well, my look is Maison margiela by John Galliano

learning. It is inspired by blood oranges. I know that the entire module our

team worked incredibly hard to find this supremely rare kind of color

and I'm wearing a water cage coat as well.

I'm also giving seeing some I'm evoking something of the show, which

is very close to my heart and I think was a glorious celebration and recent fashion

history. Is your hair from the show.

Maybe oh, I'm I'm wearing Ludovic and he

actually 5:00 that he put all of these little crystals together lovely want

a little dark. We want a little mysterious and sexy with the flowers.

I can breathe a little that's all that that's

all that matters. But Lala we are so excited to hear about your dress

and what inspired it. Thank you so much. You both are stunning like Visions when I'm

looking at you both. So my dress is Queen and I just wanted to embody the darker side of

the theme and I was so excited also to find pre-loved vintage accessories that I found on

eBay. They are stunning and just

my look and I just feel confident. I too can't breathe but who needs to breathe. We

just gotta be here and do our job and do a great job and that's what that's what I'm

trying to do tonight, but you both look stunning. I feel great. It's going to be love

from different genres from music from film fashion.

because this is the one chance people get to really

sort of wear whatever. They want true. As long as

quintessential. It's like great strong shoulders and

feels like hot and Street and sexy. It is sexy looking at it up close. I'm like, wow,

Look, I'm It all started this incredible card see a necklace that Jimmy is wearing. It's a

new design of the earth and I was super inspired by the floral feeling that it gave

me and so their whole piece is made out of vintage archival wallpaper

and we repurpose it. It's all 11,000 hours of silk embroidery. And then we've literally

repurposed it into this Victorian idea of a see her blooming on the carpet and

covered in these like thorns and I wanted to basically the vines to her thorns and kind of

almost like this IV to this gorgeous flower and the perfect moment of Bloom and I was so

inspired by this year's theme. Oh no this and this This piece is debuting. This is a brand

new piece from Cartier and it's also a flower that was

called the Cloris which is Greek for the nymph or plant and flowers

and it's like a dandelion that's blowing in the wind as this dress for me was as

the petals. We're falling off Harris to outdid yourself. This is a your first met

Harris. This is my second attend a does it feel now to be going with Demi Moore to the

mat. I don't get mad, but I think it's one of my favorite moments in my entire. Like

literally you're going oh, but where did the Mad Ants

mine? Are you just sent me out of the bus last year,

and I worked with her on the shoot as well. So yeah, absolutely. Yeah, and you also

recorded a poem for the exhibition, which apparently you just repeats on like I just
